As a leader, you are committing to:
- Initial Leader Training – Vision, values, expectations, leadership covenant, group integrity, group dynamics, the necessity of prayer, the power of listening and taking notes, and Leader Guide Overview
- Reading a weekly email with weekly training video (10 min.)
- Weekly leader prep (15 min.) and daily devotions (20 min./day = 2 hours/week)
- Weekly “just-in-time” trainings held prior to each weekly group meeting to create culture, build community, debrief, celebrate, pray, and coach from week to week (30 min prior to group)
- Leading weekly group (2 hours)
- Serve experience (orientation, serve experience, and debrief), and celebration will be outside of the regular meeting times. The Prayer experience week will be 3 hours instead of 2 hours. A total of 5 ½ hours.
- Identification of leaders within your groups to carry the group and the 7 rhythms into long-term community
Your primary role is to create an environment that promotes authentic discussions, deeper biblical understanding, and lifestyle transformation among group members that, in turn gives them a renewed passion for:
a. A personal relationship to Jesus
b. Knowing and hearing God’s voice
c. The body of Christ and fulfilling their role within the local and global church
d. An open and intimate prayer life
e. Intentionally sharing their faith and story with others
f. Issues of poverty and social justice in their community and around the world.
This is accomplished in several ways:
a. Weekly homework (intentional time with God)
b. Weekly group time
c. Three group experiences
d. Ongoing communication and prayer with group members
e. Final blessing, celebration and commissioning
And Remember:
God will be the judge. The facilitator will show love.
The Holy Spirit will convict. The facilitator will speak truth and grace.
Jesus will save. The facilitator will support decisions, not force them.
The curriculum will teach. The facilitator will facilitate conversation and help the group apply the learnings.
